Four Sisters Fushigi Yuugi Page
Byakko: Four Gods, Four Sisters....perfect. MAJIWARU TIME!! =^_-=
All right, so we're finally back. It's been
a few months, hasn't it? We apologize. Things have been interesting. Those pesky
Nyan-Nyan have been running amok - never teach a Nyan-Nyan HTML. You can see the result. ;;=^_^=
And yes, the game of Coed Nekkid Divine Twister is also my fault.
But anyways, let's get
straight to business. Susan wrote us...some time ago...;;=^_^= and asked us to take a look at her page.
We always aim to please! ( Hmm...does this mean we get to majiwaru with her if we grant her wishes? =*^_^*=
Okay, stop looking at me like that. All right, let's go earn our Divine keep.
Okay, first thing up - a sort of opening mainpage, which leads straight to a real mainpage with a list of updates and then a list of links to the parts of the site. Okay, this is good.
It loads quickly, and it's attractive. Generally, I don't approve of putting updates on the mainpage, but since this is
such a short list, it doesn't drag down the page. There's nothing more...tiring...than having to scroll down five screens to get
to the real links. One suggestion ( which you DON'T have to take, it's just a thought ) would be to make a seperate "New" page, or
to put the updates on the first mainpage, the index.html. But really, that's just stylistic quibblings. The current design is just fine. =^_^=
Also, at the bottom of this page, is a clear and definite policy regarding the images and information on this page. New FY webmasters, take note: if people say not to use it...DON'T!
Now let's just see what else we have here...
By now, you can obviously see that this isn't your typical FY page with character stats and whatnot. And you know what? That's NOT a bad thing. I like individuality in
pages. Plus, it reduces the need for ripping other pages off. This is an example of what new things you can do with FY fandom. =^_^=
- Silly Recaps - which I've seen elsewhere termed as " Fushigi Akugi " =^_^=
- A History of Quotables
- A Guide to HTML
- Guides to Copyright Law
- An FY Calender
Aigh~~ popups. Ah well, that's not even their fault. We'll go smite Geocities some other day. =^_^=
The Recaps, Fanart, and Fanfiction pages are lovely. But since we're not a fanfiction or fanart reviewing service, I'll just comment on the page itself. The design is a bit simple, but it loads easily, and the simplicity of design is not due to the inexperience of the webmasters - if you look at the fancolorings, you can see that they know how to use Photoshop. If I had to be picky - which I won't - I'd love to see
a few more graphics, myself, just for aesthetic appeal. But this is all a matter of time, energy, and inclination. =*_*= Graphics grab the visitor's attention - perhaps the webmasters could use some of their lovely fancolorings or fanart?
The Guide to HTML and the Guide to Copyright Law. I think we love you. I'm not quite sure what this is doing on an *FY* page - but they're very useful resources for page maintainers of any type. Perhaps you could stick them somewhere else? Such as on an "Other" page? Since this is meant to be an FY page, it
just seems somehow out of place.
The FY "Calender" - one quick note: CalendAr. =^_-= Other than that, this is another original addition to this page. Pretty graphics, too.
No links page, really...but since all of this is original, there doesn't seem to be any need for one. If anyone else's stuff is used, a link is given directly. So that's fine.
In conclusion, this page is quite good, I think.
- Good Points: The
All original stuff, quick-loading, clearly credited.
- Bad Points:
A little...bland...to the eye. A few more graphics, please?
This page doesn't really need much of our help - it's a fine fan-page. Not informational, but fun to browse. Just spruce it up a bit - but the sprig of parsley on top of the ten-course meal, okay? =^_^= We LIKE eyecandy. You don't think that we dress our miko like that out of NECESSITY, do you?
I wonder...do we eat bad pages, or eat good pages? Or both? *laugh*
