Fushigi Yuugi Hotohori Shrine
Byakko: Let's see if I get something to eat today.
It appears to be time for another summoning. So let's see what's on the menu today.
First things first. Mmm, a shrine. I like shrines, even when they're not devoted to me. >_< This particular shrine is devoted to Hotohori, so let's see what there is. Here's the stuff on the page that I liked for its originality:
Graphics - The page itself looks good. Maxi Rose obviously knows how to play with her software. But this is probably in the domain of the other gods. =^_^=
Midi - I like original stuff, and this hand-transcribed MIDI of "Sadame No Hoshi" is a nice touch for the Hotohori Shrine. It's a pity the people who steal it from her don't credit it to her all the time.
Poem - This is another part I really like. Originality is a VERY important part of making a webpage about ANYTHING. What's the point of taking a little bit of what everyone else has said and scrambling it all together and calling it a page?
Hotohori Mailing List - another nice, original touch.
Cosplay Pix - pictures of herself and her husband dressed up as FY characters! Now, how often do you see things like that on other FY pages? =^_^=
FY on IRC - good info that VERY few other people have.
FY message board
Fushigi Soudan - an email RPG! Very nice!
As far as my specialty, that is, originality and netiquette, this page has almost no complaints from me. Most of the stuff is original, and what isn't, such as Tasuki No Miko's manga character data, is CLEARLY credited. This is a PERFECT example of how we want things to be credited.
However, I see a unfortunate lack of personal commentary on Hotohori! If one took the trouble to make such a beautiful shrine to the Emperor of Konan, one much obviously like him, and have opinions about him. Which I, for one, would be interested in hearing!
Part of what gives a webpage its spice ( you think we Gods like eating webpages that taste like Spam? ) are the original thoughts of the webmasters. There's a lot of things one could say about Hotohori, without even being spoilers! It'd be nice to see some more of that in this Shrine. It's *okay* to be a drooling fangirl/fanboy as long as you can state your feelings coherently!
And now to some other problems.
Image Gallery - two of the three links to other Hotohori Image Galleries are broken. One is marked as such, but the Happy Hyper Elves have vanished into thin air. =~_~=
Link page - two more links are broken here. The Hotohori no Miko and Bishounen No Miko pages are gone. ( Bishounen No Miko I know has relocated to Aestheticism. You could update that link. If you want the URL, drop us a line and we'll help you out! That's what we're here for! )
Webrings - the FYML image is gone.
FY on IRC - The #fushigiyuugi link is broken. I know that that page has been relocated; email us if you want the new link!
And so, in conclusion, this is my final word on this page:
This has the makings of an excellent Shrine. It has many original things for visitors to look at. However , I'd like to see more personal opinions on the character or the series, and there are just a few broken links to be cleared up. Other than that, it's a good page. ( Although, why aren't there any shrine to my seishi? =^_^= )
In short: Yum. Just needs a little seasoning, and maybe I won't have to eat Suzaku this time.
